Holy Trinity Church.
This church is built of rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. It was built in 1872/74 and the architects were the renowned ecclesiastical architects, Medland and Henry Taylor of Manchester and the contractor was Peter Green. It was built as a chapel to St George’s Church, Hyde, and it was consecrated in Oct 1874.
The foundation stone of the Queen Victoria Memorial Tower was laid on the 18 Jul 1903 by the vicar, the Revd Thomas George Williams, and the tower was consecrated on the 22 Apr 1904 by the Bishop of Chester, the Rt Revd Francis John Jayne. The architects were James Hunt & Son of Stockport and the contractors were Messrs Armitage of Gee Cross. The vestry on the north side was built in 1939 and the contactors were Messrs Crompton Brothers of Hyde.
